Sadly, my welcome into the blog world was not as provoking as I had hoped. I guess I was naively half-expecting an intriguing discussion. Instead, the only response I received was a hardly refreshing wake-up call: I guess Americans really are as foolish and mind-controlled as we seem!
I wish the world was as black and white as the Bush administration and certain religious sects view it, but it's not. In reality, there is always a gray area. Nothing in life ever fits neatly into a dichotomy, so viewing the "other" political party -- aka, Republican vs Democrat -- as the enemy is not only foolish (there are more than two political perspectives afterall) but also harmful to the country. I wish people could listen to each other instead of pushing their ethnocentric views on everybody else!

I hear you, part of our problem is a corporate controlled media pushing content on us. Nobody wants to actually have to do the work of looking things up and figuring things out for themselves.
To really get into a dialogue with other people, ask those who interest you to be their friend, and start leaving comments on their blogs. Before you know it, you will have a network of friends with whom to exchange ideas.
