everything sits complex
transfixing as it stares
back at bodies
dripping through puddles.
time beats down on my neck
shoulders hunched
stomach rumbles
like the ominous sky
that peels and melts and falls at my feet
each time i really try
to embrace sunshine
picture perfect
(wouldn't it be?)
where did the last ten years go?
like a worm i wiggle
through pockets of space
always running from
the soil
around me
